Rhododendron decorum is native to the border area between Western Yunnan (China) and Myanmar (Burma) but is widely distributed throughout western China. We have grown it here in Western Washington for years. We’ve loved visiting this species wherever we’ve encountered it.
Decorum can grow to a small tree in 10 years, and a large tree in 20. Large, late-blooming white flowers are fragrant and delightful.
Decorum is a “good do-er” which will provide you with gardening pleasure for years.
This rhododendron will like either shade or sun (but don’t let it bake) with small amounts of fertilizer on Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.
